"Furthermore, in the current economic climate we believe that sport’s governing bodies, which are autonomous of Government, should be able to maximise revenues where they can for their sport. It is important to note that because of the commercial prominence and limited outreach of motor sport at the grassroots level that the Government does not provide the same level of public funding as it does with other professional sports. It is therefore important for the sport to receive this investment through its commercial partnerships. "
He then goes on to say:
"While some F1 fans will be disappointed to see fewer races on terrestrial TV, we are confident that the sport will still continue to receive good coverage."
