the caring society?

Health care costs a lot; companies are under pressure to cut costs and so health care cover is under threat. Here's what the CEO of AT&T has said recently:

"Every element of the health care plan that we look at says that if you just follow economic gravity, you're better off paying the government a fine and dropping health care coverage for your employees." Does that sound like a great company to work for?

He went to say he didn't want to do that, but then added "people we compete with will begin to move that way, and it will create an economic gravity". Translation = "we won't be the first, but if others do it, so will we".

Better get those health check-ups done now....
